Some good news regarding Parish Share
At the end of April we have edged ahead year on year and the number of parishes who have yet to make a payment has reduced from 40% to 28%..

We would like to get this to below 10% by mid-year so if you know of parishes which have yet to make a payment do please encourage them to do so as soon as possible. We are of course ready to help where we can with parishes who find themselves in difficulties and I am very happy to come and preach on stewardship or talk to PCCs/Deanerys.We would like to get this to below 10% by mid-year so if you know of parishes which have yet to make a payment do please encourage them to do so as soon as possible. We are of course ready to help where we can with parishes who find themselves in difficulties and I am very happy to come and preach on stewardship or talk to PCCs/Deanery Synods.

Some good news on Gift Aid - according to the latest national statistics (2006) the Diocese increased the total amount claimed by £120K to £1.21m. The percentage of donor income on which Gift is recovered rose from 48.5% to 52.6% year on year but we are still behind the national average of 55.6%.

Finally, a remodelled and more accessible Giving in Grace website maintained by the Liverpool Diocese has now been completed with some useful case studies and new material on tithing and annual review. Please take time to have a look at it (below), and enjoy using it and promoting it!

With best wishes,
David
