Tables and chairs will replace the usual "pews" in order to host a champagne reception followed by a three course black tie dinner, provided by a professional caterers. The evening will include an auction of various items which have been donated to the church for the event, including a round brilliant cut diamond from London's Hatton Garden, a balloon flight, bottles of champagne and a motorhome experience weekend. The guests will be entertained by the Robin Philips Jazz trio - one of the country's top jazz acts.
Ninety guests are expected to the event, including the Bishop of Norwich, MP Ian Gibson and BBC Radio Norfolk's Roy Waller, who was married at St Catherine's.
"This is a first for St Catherine's, and we're so grateful to all the organizations who've offered their help," said the Revd Paul Mackay, Vicar of Mile Cross. "There is a custom of feasting in the Christian tradition, and we're looking forward to an unusual and enjoyable evening."
