The Board of Finance has discussed the current credit crunch generally together with the impact of higher heating bills specifically on the clergy members of staff. The matter was also discussed at the last Property Committee meeting and, as Secretary to the Property and Glebe Committees, I was asked to write to all clergy to share guidance and advice on how best to reduce heating costs.

Last year, 130 parishes in our Diocese took part in Back to Church Sunday. Nationally, 6000 people came back to church on that day last year and about 15% have become regular members, while a further 3,000 are still in touch with their inviting churches. It works!

Archdeacon of Norwich Announces Retirement

The Archdeacon of Norwich is to retire from full-time ministry in the summer. The Venerable Clifford Offer has been Archdeacon of Norwich and Canon Residentiary and Librarian of Norwich Cathedral since 1994.
