PAT Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q. I get an error message when I open the PAT regarding Macro Security and cannot get the refresh buttons to work.
A. Please refer to the Parish Accounts Template troubleshooting section of the website for a step by step guide to enable macros.

Q. I have changed the security settings in Excel, but when I open PAT, a Security Warning appears, what do I do?
A. In order for PAT to function correctly, you will need to click the middle of the three buttons, being "Enable Macros".

Q. The box that is labelled ‘ACCOUNTS' It is not a green box so do we put name of account i.e. General Fund ?
A. Although this box is not green, you can change the name of this.

Q. Churches included - do we put the name of the church again or does it mean any other church that is included?
A. Once you have selected your Parish and clicked ‘refresh' this will populate automatically.

Q. Receipts, one column is ‘Year' next column is labelled  ‘Value' Does your system include a column for previous year for comparison?. Could not put in years as ‘protected'
A. When you complete the year on the details tab and click refresh, the year and value will update. Eg. If you select 2010 on the details tab, then the receipts will show as 2010 and 2009 respectively on the receipts/payment tabs.

Q. I am using Microsoft Office 2010 and when I try to save, I get a message about Compatibility Checker saying certain features are not supported, what should I do?
A. This is a function which is built into Office 2010, you can click continue on this window as it will not affect the spreadsheet, in order to stop this message from re-appearing, remove the tick next to the box called "Check compatibility when saving this workbook."
