“In the Pilgrim Benefice the 5 Anglican churches, the Baptist church, the evangelical chapel and a local Faith Mission evangelist have pledged to work together. Our launch in October was to hold Walk Thru the Bible - Old Testament, all denominations were represented. We shall being holding the WTTB New Testament day in February.
We meet once a month to pray together, moving round the churches but we have opted to use the Anglican churches in the summer as the chapels are warmer in the winter! The prayer group is lead by different people in turn and includes a mixture of styles. On Ash Wednesday all denominations are joining together for the Ash Wednesday service at one of the Anglican churches.
We are currently working with the parish councils to see whether there is a need for Christmas lunch to be provided for people on their own on Christmas Day.
We are planning to hold joint bible studies, to carry crosses converging from the 5 villages on Good Friday and to hold some services in the open air and/or village halls.
We are meeting again shortly to discuss how we can further bless our communities in deed.
