2009 Lent Project
Diocesan Lent Projects

Each year parishes, schools and individuals are invited to take part in the Diocese of Norwich’s Lent Project. It aims to:

  • encourage giving as part of Lenten observance
  • encourage learning about and engagement with the world-wide church
  • involve children / schools
  • help parishes fulfil their ‘Committed to Growth: in service’ programmes

Every second year we support our link Diocese of Papua New Guinea.

In alternate years, we will be supporting other projects nominated by people from the Diocese that typically might:

  1. provide possibilities for education about and engagement with the world / world church
  2. have real links with the Diocese
  3. encourage a ministry of evangelism
  4. are time limited and sustainable

In 2009 we will be supporting Educateperu, a project to bring education to children in one of the poorer parts of Peru, Pachacutec by building a school.

For further information about Lent Projects, and particularly if you have a project you would like to nominate for a future year, please contact
