Christian Aid
During Lent 2009 Christian Aid blogged a virtual journey through the Holy Land.
With help from people who have travelled in the region - and those that live and work there - the journey will see the sights but also hear what it is like to work for peace in this troubled region.

Archbishops of Canterbury and York
On Ash Wednesday 2009 the Archbishops of Canterbury and York launched a national appeal for Zimbabwe.
This was in response to a statement from the meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion earlier this month, who called for a fresh effort across the Communion to raise funds to help the Anglican dioceses in Zimbabwe to address the mounting humanitarian crisis in their communities.
Donations are collected by USPG: Anglicans in World Mission on behalf of the Anglican Communion Office. The funds are then sent on to the five dioceses of Zimbabwe to enable them to deliver their emerging strategic plans for using the funds to address the humanitarian needs in their dioceses.
Church Urban Fund
The Church Urban Fund has produced a range of prayers, information and activities for Lent which serve as a focus for reflection and highlight the very real impact of poverty in England.

Tearfund
Climate change can mean our neighbours go hungry because of drought, or lose their homes because of floods. Faced with that reality, there are many things we can do, acting as part of the global church's response, to change the way our lives impact poor communities.
Fast and pray with Tearfund during Lent to cut your carbon use and help protect poor people from climate change.
